From my personal experience and from what I have seen on web so far, a watermark will not really protect from thieves, but will largely spoil viewer experience and fan perception, if it's like the default dA one or similar in the centre of the pic and almost as huge as the pic itself (which makes me sometimes wonder, whether the deviation I am viewing is a watermark or an image? ) I know, they irritate me quite Sometimes, I wonder also whether an artist is here for thieves or for fans...

An image can get stolen with any watermark really, so why stamp it with a huge? A small one can do. Disney and Pixar watermarks for example are REALLY HARD to notice, they are microscopic, and they don't spoil the real pic.

So here goes my opinion I guess

I see...that's a good point. I could always leave a signature somewhere it can't be removed...those work just as well, right?

As long as it is not in a place which actually increases the desire to remove it. In your dev 'NIKKI' it is just right, for example.
